Our timetable is below, but is subject to change depending on events in the diary.

Ideas on how to help at home:

Reading - the children will have a phonics book and a reading for pleasure book. It is lovely to read how they are getting on in their reading records. We aim to hear each child read once a week. Library books should be brought in each Friday.

Maths - practice counting up, down, skipping numbers, in any creative way you can think of! Ensure children are confident in recognising numbers to 100, perhaps by looking at house numbers when you are out walking. Also keep re-inforcing number bonds.

Spellings - we will be starting with the Year 1 common exception words. Mrs Ray will be sending personalised lists home to practice. We also practice our spellings in our handwriting sessions as well as a lesson each week.

DT - lots of cooking at home!

If you fancy a trip further afield - IWM Duxford would like well with our history learning or Colchester Zoo is always great for learning about animals in their habitats.

We’re here to support you. Feel free to catch us at the classroom door before or after school for any quick queries. For more in-depth discussions, we’re happy to arrange a meeting at your convenience.

Let’s work together to help your child achieve their goals and 'dream big' this term!
